Have a Blessed Week!

Prayers are wonderful! Everyone should do it more often!

The Holy Trinity

There is nothing like something controversial that is a theme of disagreement between catholics and other denominations.

Since I was a child, I always envisioned the Holy Trinity as a glass pyramid withe different colours, that litten would light up a room magically.
Later on a cathequist friend of mine explained, due to portugueses rurality, it was easy to explain it with a turnip. Nowadays wouldn't be the same...
Today, our priest explained to our children through the comparison to a product such as tooth paste, 3 in one, which is an easier version to many of them as compared to a turnip.

The truth is: it is a hard mystery to explain and even harder to grasp it. In our heart, however, we can find an answer: God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit in one. This way He can love 3 times more, better and differently. As such, He loves us with his heart, body and soul. He connects to us, the children og God, through the "non understandable", the tangible and faith. It is Him, Him and Him, 3 in 1. Is there anything else to understand?

Going therefore, teach ye all nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.   (Mt. 28, 19-20)

Coming Back!

Through the wise words of Schwarzeneger: "I'll be back!", so am I at the wise age of 35. My resolution was to start a blog in portuguese, my mother tongue, with daily blogging on numerous themes.

Therefore I have decided that I'll write a double batch and both blogs will present the same though in different languages.

The themes will be:
Sunday: God, Faith and Catholicism
Monday: Home organising
Tuesday: Kitchen Surprises
Wednesday: Home economics
Thursday: Gardens and backyard farming
Friday: One pic is worth a thousand words
Saturday: Family fun

Because there is always a tomorrow :)!

Roaming around other blogs

Found this one which seemed like it had been written for me - I know this is totally not modest but indulge me on this one.

I am always debating with sainthood and feeling I should help others get there but this has made me ponder

“Your personal sanctification is your primary duty. The effort to sanctify others must be the overflow of your love for our Lord. In any case, seek to give our Lord the greatest possible joy and trust in Him through the Immaculate.”

{St Maximilian Kolbe}

The other pondering factor is that I am also currently debating with my vocation and discerning it with my husband - we have been discussing a step forward for ten years - maybe this will be the year to do it...

Plus the nesting instinct... I am always on the lookout to organize and clean everything!

Adeus (ao meu bisavô)

Partiste:
já não era sem tempo.
Sofrias,
gemias,
gritavas,
choravas,
nada te aliviava.
Gostava de te ter dito
o que por ti sentia:
Gostava de ti
muito...
Tu sabias.
Quando meu nome chamavas.
Acariciava-te,
pedias minha mão.
Abandonei-te no dia em que senti
que acabaste.
Perdão!
Encontraremo-nos no Paraíso!
Até lá!

Caminhada

Ao longo das trevas
caminharei segura
pois Tu estás a meu lado.

Ao meu lado estavas
quando a terra se abriu
e o mundo ruiu.

Caminharei
o longo troço
da minha vida.

Novos desafios.
Novas alegrias.
Novas Tristezas.

Lembrarei-me sempre:
caminha mais quem
de bagagem vazia segue.

Meu caminho,
de coração leve,
de espírito solto.

Comecemos!

Curiosity

A new study found that the average child is more likely to own a cell phone than a book. I guess that would explain why he's average. (Unknown author)
